The Agricultural Rural Development Authority (ARDA) is set to partner Silo Foods Industries in the production of cooking oil and other products following its high production of sunflower at its estates countrywide. ARDA board chairperson Craig Ivan said the project, which is targeting rural communities, will assist in industrialising and developing marginalised areas in line with Government’s drive to leave no place and no person behind in pursuit of Vision 2030. Zimbabwe is working to significantly to reduce the annual cooking oil import bill of around US$200 million by promoting increased production of oil seeds for local production of the commodity.
