The ministry of primary and secondary education has warned boarding pupils to travel after the 8th of January following a forecast of excess rainfall and storms expected between today and the 8th , this week.
Manicaland provincial education director Mr Edward Shumba said school authorities, parents and other stakeholders have to accept the disruption and follow the directive from the ministry so as to save lives during the period of the heavy rains.
Meanwhile the excess rainfall which has collided with the schools opening, has become a blessing in disguise to some parents as they have earned an extension of time to prepare for their children’s return to schools next week.
Political parties obliged to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections this year.
