The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development has commended the launch of the Agriculture Information Management Systems (AIMS) saying this will promote the use of modern technology into agriculture systems. Speaking on the sidelines of the AIMS launch held at a local hotel in Mutare by the Ministry of Lands in partnership with the Ministry of ICT, Deputy Minister of Lands Hon Vangelis Haritatos said the development will bring in smart agriculture practices through improving both agricultural productivity and profitability. Hon Haritatos further stated that the use of ICT in agriculture enables the monitoring and prediction of trends which in turn allows communities to plan for risks and disasters.
