The Ministry of Women Affairs Small and Medium Enterprise Development says plans are on course to engage chiefs to lead commemorations of this year's 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence. The ministry’s Acting Provincial Development Officer Mr Gabriel Jaji said the move is targeting to encourage chiefs to the lead role in curbing harmful cultural and religious practices that promote GBV in their respective communities. Chiefs as custodians of culture and traditions have an upper hand in denouncing some practices that have been a breeding ground for GBV.
