The Ministry of Health and Child Care has urged parents in Manicaland to get their children immunized under the second phase of polio immunization program set to commence on the 1st to the 4th of December. Manicaland Provincial Health Promotion Officer Mrs Agnes Mugumbate said the same door to door procedure that was done in the first phase will be implemented in the second phase including visiting vending sites and bus termini to ensure that every child below the age of 5 is immunized calling on parents to be compliant. Government targets to reach a polio immunization target of 95% following the recent surfacing of the disease in neighboring countries.
