Planting of small grains at Middle Sabi Irrigation Scheme has begun following the completion of winter wheat harvesting by small scale farmers.Middle Sabi Farmers Chairperson Skhumbuzo Thondlana said farmers are taking advantage of the current soil moisture to intensify planting of sorghum, soya beans among other crops as delays would result in lower yields, adding that farmers contracted under ARDA have received their inputs with hope for more contractors to come on board. Many farmers have started planting and those who have already benefited from good falls since the onset of the month have been advised not to delay planting.
