While the Meteorological Services Department has forecast normal to above normal rainfall in the 2022/23 summer cropping season, villagers in Chipinge and Chimanimani have been urged to be on high alert during this rainy season and take precautionary measures should floods and other natural disasters occur. Chimanimani District Development Coordinator Mr Joseph Manyurapasi said the district is prone to natural disasters especially during the rainy season, urging local people to be on high alert. Meanwhile, Chipinge DDC Mr William Mashava shared the same sentiments encouraging residents to make use of the evacuation centres in the event of emergencies.
