At least 38 vulnerable infants who would have lost their mothers whilst still at breastfeeding age in the province are benefiting with supplementary milk under the Vulnerable Children Intervention Project being spearheaded by Windows of Hope. Windows of Hope Programs Manager Darlington Chikamhi said the number of vulnerable children has become overwhelming since every infant in that situation is referred to them, he added that they are turning away more than 10 babies every month whom they cannot support due to their limited budget. He added that the program which started in 2004 also benefits child headed families with monthly groceries for their sustenance.
