The Veterinary Service Department in Manicaland has urged residents across the province to get their pets vaccinated against rabies under a vaccination program they are currently conducting. Manicaland Veterinary Service Department's Chief Health Inspector Dr Roy Dube said routine vaccinations are important intervention to curb rabies in animals and humans adding that when bitten by an infected dog people should visit the hospital and seek treatment before seven days. Dr Dube further encouraged communities to report early to their nearest veterinary offices any suspected cases of rabies and strange behaviour on their animals.
