At least 300 new farmers have registered for the Pfumvudza/Intwasa program in Ward 16, Chimanimani district as the preparation for the 2022-23 summer cropping season intensify. District Farmers’ chairperson Lovemore Simbi said they have had an overwhelming response to the concept, and progress has been recorded on activities such as mulch harvesting, liming and manure accumulation as farmers await the distribution of inputs. While Zimbabwe is expecting normal to above normal rainfall during the coming summer cropping season there are forecasts over how the rain will be distributed during the season.
