The Ministry of Women Affairs spearheads the review of the national gender based violence strategy

The Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development is spearheading the review of the National Gender Based Violence Strategy in line with the High-level political compact signed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, as part of its mandate to coordinate issues of gender mainstreaming and empowerment of women. Gender Director in the ministry, Mr. Stephen Nyaruwata said together with other stakeholders they are collectively formulating of a strategy that will provide a compass for every organization to navigate the GBV terrain, adding that the process is being supported by SADC. Speaking at the same occasion SADC human security program officer, Jacinta Hofnie said they are part of the process to share lessons learnt from other SADC member countries.
