The Ministry of Health and Childcare’s first phase of the polio vaccination campaign commenced yesterday and will run up to the 11th of September, while the second phase is set to run from the 13th to 16th of October this year. Mutare District Health Promotion Officer, Mrs. Sophia Nezandonyi said the polio vaccine will be administered on children below five years at local clinics, early childhood learning centers and some health posts to be established across the province. She further said while measles vaccines are coming in batches, parents should not give up on getting their children vaccinated against the disease. Meanwhile Manicaland has the highest number of measles cases among provinces across the country.
