3 Mutare men prosecuted for possession of diamonds worth 3K

Three Mutare men have appeared in court for possessing diamonds worth over USD$3 000 without licenses. The trio, Romeo Tembo, Luckymore Chikove and Tonderai Mandiwanzira admitted the charge before Regional Magistrate Langton Carter. The court heard that sometime last year, the three were arrested in Morningside after detectives from CID had received information that they were illegally dealing in precious stones. Still in courts, a businessman from Energy Freight was left counting his losses after a pastor’s daughter and her friend seduced him and stole over USD$ 1000 from his wallet. Appearing before Mutare Magistrate Thandiwe Sibanda, Beatrice Munetsi and Tatenda Kauza pleaded guilty of stealing USD$1200 from 36-year old Richard Pamire. Prosecutor, Thurstone Mubvumbi told the court that accused committed the crime when they had visited Richard’s residence in Morningside. Upon realizing his money had gone missing, Richard made a police report leading to the duo’s arrest. The sentencing has been set for 14 September.
