The Traditional Grains Association has made a reiteration call for small scale farmers in Manicaland to diversify to climate change tolerant crops this season to prevent losses in commercial production. Association Chairperson, Basil Nyabadza said farmers in areas like Chipinge should practice new farming methods like free ranching, growing of organic crops like ginger, garlic and turmeric crops which ensure sustainability at household and village level. Government and stakeholders continue to address issues of climate change through various measures, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa expected to attend this year’s COP 27 in concerted efforts for the nation to deal with the phenomenon.
