Villagers in Mt Jenya Ward 16 received a major boost through the completion of a community health center with financial aid from devolution funds disbursed by Government to revitalize rural communities. Ward Councillor Patrick Mukahanana said the new development has reduced the spread of diseases to school children since the villagers were using a classroom block as a facility to access health services for a longer period, adding that staff quarters are yet to be completed once they receive this year’s funds. The devolution program has helped local authorities across the country boost health service delivery, particularly in rural areas, where millions of Zimbabweans quite often face long journeys when ill to obtain treatment.
