Mutare City fathers have been challenged to shun corruption in delivery of their services to the residents. On the side lines of the burial of the Late Alderman Lawrence Mudehwe at the Manicaland Provincial Hero’s Acre in Mutare, Zanu PF Secretary for Finance Cde Patrick Chinamasa said the Pungwe Water Pipeline project was an exhibition of Mudehwe’s stewardship, challenging current city councillors to take a leaf from the late hero’s exemplary leadership in building good service delivery.
Speaking at the same occasion the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Nokuthula Matsikenyere warned people in Manicaland against reversing gains of the liberation struggle which were defended by the late Alderman Mudehwe. Alderman Mudehwe served as a mayor on ceremonial basis from 1990 to 1995, before being elected as an executive mayor from 1995 to 2003.
