At least 34 gender based violence victims in Chipinge South are benefiting from a Rotating Savings and Credit Association project popularly known as Mukando, being spearheaded by a local organization. In an interview, Chipinge Rural Livelihood and Women Empowerment founder Mrs Mary Mhaka said the initiative is meant to empower these women and enable them to be self-sustainable so they can fend for their families following cases of violence they would have encountered. She added that they initiated the project after realization that most women who were being victimized were not financially empowered.
