Chipinge Agritex says prices remained low during the macadamia marketing season that recently ended. In an interview, Chipinge Agritex Supervisor Charles Mhandu said due to the highly competitive produce from Australia, the macadamia nuts from Zimbabwe were overshadowed which led to very low prices ranging from US$1 to US$2.50 per kg as compared to last year where prices were ranging from US$3-US$5 depending with the quality. He further called on farmers to plough back to the field from the little proceeds they got so as to produce better quality next year.
