City of Mutare has set aside nine million dollars in this year’s budget for a feasibility study on its aim to draw water from Osbourne Dam as the local authority is scouting for new water sources to supply the growing demand in the city. Acting City Town Clerk Mr Blessing Chafesuka made the revelation during a program on Diamond fm, where he said demand for water supply is continuously increasing and that the local authority is already mitigating against this challenge. Establishment of new residential settlements and the recent connection of Dangamvura to the city water supply system have resulted in ballooning demand for the precious liquid.
