Calls have been made for government to intervene in the replacement and reinstallation of 3 transformers that were stolen at three schools in Mutare rural’s Nyamajura Ward 1, a challenge which is now hindering the learning of Information, Communication and Technology skills in these schools.

In an interview, Ward Councillor Luxon Mawango said the transformers were stolen during the first covid 19 lockdown and since march 2020 computers at Jechera, Lerance and Batsira Primary Schools are lying idle. The stealing of these transformers draws back the pledged by government to bridge the “digital divide” between rural and urban schools in the country.
