Smallholder farmers under irrigation schemes in Manicaland have been encouraged to work hard to earn more income and maintain their irrigation equipment. In an interview, ZINWA Irrigation and Rural Development Director Engineer Waddilove Mandiziba said the engagement of specialized irrigation scheme managers by the Authority will also assist in maintaining the equipment as well as improving production of crops at a time when climate change has had negative effects on farming. He further emphasized that farmers should continue working closely with Agritex officers to receive important updates and trainings for viable farming activities.
