Farmers in Manicaland have been challenged to heed changes in weather patterns being caused by climate change for proper planning of their farming activities. In an interview, SEEDCO Sales and Marketing Agronomist Clemence Mucharedzei warned farmers of extended winter seasons encouraging them to plant winter tolerant crops such as onions, beetroot and cabbages to avoid loses. He further called on farmers to put in place measures that protects their crops from frost related diseases such as establishing wind breaks and early morning irrigation.
