MWA targets girls and young women with technical and vocational skills.

The Ministry of Women Affairs in collaboration with Care International and other stakeholders have initiated a program aimed at increasing equitable access and utilization of relevant, diverse, accessible technical and vocational skills training opportunities by adolescent girls and young women including those with disabilities.

In an interview, Development Officer in the ministry in Manicaland Mr Confidence Mungayi said objectives of the program dubbed “Start for Girls” entrepreneurship mentorship, include incorporating youth activities developed from youth analysis into project main plan, develop mentorship programs and assessment tools and plan for implementation as well as develop prevocational learning secondary schools. Other stakeholders in the program which is covering Mutare and Buhera districts include the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Vocational Training Centers and rural district councils.
