Farmers in Manicaland have been urged to take precautionary measures to protect their crops from the cold spell. In an interview, SeedCo Sales and Marketing Agronomist Clemence Mucharedzei mentioned a number of strategies to fight the cold which includes construction of wind breaks as well as early morning irrigation. He further warned of frost related diseases saying they lead to total write-off and reduction of produce. Manicaland is one of the provinces in the country which records very low temperatures during the winter season.
