The exclusion of the boy child by various organizations and the community from developmental and social programs has been lamented by government, with concerns raised that the situation is creating a greater risk for the society.

Addressing guests during a church gathering recently, Manicaland permanent secretary for provincial affairs and devolution, Mr Edgars Seenza said organizations have diverted from the gender balance drive and are creating a danger in society as the boy child is now resorting to drug and substance abuse. Meanwhile, local Psychotherapist Dr Mazvita Machinga said the situation is brewing abusive future husbands and fathers, urging organizations to address the matter.
