President Emmerson Mnangagwa says plans are underway to ensure quantitative and qualitative improvement of local education institutions, given that the level of development of a nation is dependent on the teaching and adoption of science, technology and innovation. Addressing thousands of citizens who gathered for the 42nd independence celebrations at Barbour-fields stadium in Bulawayo yesterday President Mnangagwa said resources will continue to be channeled towards expanding the availability of science related infrastructure throughout all schools in the country. He also said the Schools Financing Policy will see the equalization of opportunities for a higher quality of education for all learners throughout the country, with phased free primary education system to be effected from 2023.
