Various stakeholders have called for audit reports to be written in vernacular languages to accommodate everyone as the auditor general’s office thrives to promote transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe.

Addressing journalists during a media engagement workshop, Auditor General Mrs Mildred Chiri said following the requests, plans are on course for her office to introduce vernacular summaries of the reports, with intention to start with Ndebele and Shona versions before extending to other dialects with time.

She further said her office is planning to introduce a summarised graphic report which can be easily comprehended by the ordinary citizens.
