Rusitu United Dairy farmers received 20 in-calf heifers from Dairy Board Zimbabwe as part of efforts to increase milk production in Manicaland. Dairy farmer’s Chairperson Andrew Nhoro said the heifers which were distributed in line with Government’s objective to contribute to the development of small scale dairy farming will improve the livelihoods of at least 120 farmers who are into dairy farming. The dairy development came at a time when the government is promoting the revitalization of the dairy sector through various growth initiatives as strategy to improve milk quality and quantity.
