Chipinge Rural Ward 21 villagers are appealing to government to construct the Chiriga rumbi road, saying it was last rehabilitated in 1997. Ward Councilor Lucas Muchinani said people in the ward walk for more than 37 km to go and receive food aid due to the poor state of the road, adding that the situation makes it difficult for people in the area food relief aid and medication. The Government is currently running the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme launched last year with a mandate to rehabilitate roads that were damaged by the heavy rains.
