Small-scale farmers in Mutasa district have made an appeal to government for training on fish farming as they lack adequate knowledge on the project.

Zimbabwe Farmers Union chairperson Aaron Mapondera told Diamond fm that because of the low production costs; several farmers are set to venture into fish farming to supply local supermarkets, adding that the area has plenty of water; which makes the venture even easier. Zimbabwe already boasts the largest fish farming operation in Africa and government has been exploring ways of promoting small-scale commercial fish production in all provinces.
