A 36-year-old Harare man recently appeared in court for fraud. Tatenda Mudimu pleaded guilty to defrauding 31 year old Philip Rugaro of RTGS43 900 when he appeared before Mutare Magistrate Rumbidzai Kabasa. Prosecutor Talent Nyamuzuwe told the court that sometime in February Mudimu was driving in town when he saw the complainant and called him, indicating that he was in need of Real Time Gross Settlement(RTGS) to pay the equivalence in United States dollars. The complainant then sent the money to Mudimu’s account who later sneaked away without settling the US dollar payment.

Mudimu was denied bail and will be back in court on 15 March.
