10 year old drowns in a Chipinge pool

SWIMMING expedition for three 10-year-old boys ended tragically after one of them drowned in a pool in Chipinge. Acting Manicaland Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident that happened in Tamburika Village in Chief Musikavanhu’s area. Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said Freedom Marufu (10) was herding cattle in the company of two of his friends when they decided to swim before they started drowning and screamed for help. He added that a 14-year-old juvenile who was seated under a tree nearby rushed to the scene and managed to rescue two of them and Freedom could not be saved. His body was later retrieved and no foul play is suspected.
