Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Deputy Minister Hon Barbra Rwodzi has called for avoidance of environmental ills consisting, encroachment into wetlands, proliferation of illegal dumps mainly in the urban areas, poor waste management practices, pollution and siltation of rivers among others. Addressing guests during a consultative workshop for the environmental management act amendment draft bill in Mutare, Hon Rwodzi said of late Zimbabwe has witnessed these ills, adding that some of them pose health hazards like diseases such as cholera and typhoid.  She further said poor waste management had gotten so bad that His Excellency President, Emmerson Mnangagwa instituted the National Clean-Up Campaign, adding that questions are now being raised if participation in the campaign should still remain voluntary.
