At least 21 community builders in Mupudzi ward 22 received training in building ablution facilities with assistance from a local development partner Mercy Corps. Ward 22 Councilor Kumbirai Kanyikwanaka commended the move saying it will help address the problem of open defecation, thereby enhancing proper hygiene amongst villagers in the area. Government has since targeted local authorities to spearhead the construction of toilets at every household in rural communities to improve sanitation and reduce the spread of diarrhoea & other water born diseases.
