CPU adopts plan in response to adverse weather damages

Civil Protection Unit CPU has adopted the National Contingency plan in response to the damage being caused by adverse weather in all parts of the country. CPU Acting Director Nathan Nkomo said part of the plan entails the provision of resources including food and evacuation arrangements when necessary adding that all civil protection structures have been activated. In a survey conducted by the CPU more than 300 homes have been destroyed by heavy rains experienced in most parts of the country since the beginning of the rainy season.
