Major boost for CDF

Press Statement |  7 months ago | top

The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has received a major boost after it was allocated $2,4 billion in the 2022 National Budget from the $2 million, which translates into $11,4 million per constituency, a development that has excited legislators. The money will be shared among the 210 constituencies.

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, allocated $2,4 billion for CDF so that legislators and their local leaders can identify projects that ought to be attended to as the Second Republic implements the National Development Strategy 1, which is one of the major pillars aimed at attaining Vision 2030 of an empowered upper middle income economy. The money is expected to transform communities as well as complement government’s devolution agenda in line with NDS1.
