2 Chipinge Council employees suspended

Two Chipinge Town council employees were recently served with suspension letters after a surprise visit by the Deputy Min of local government, public works and national housing, Honourable Marrian Chombo who caught them illegally transacting foreign currency while the other delayed serving the residents The two; Simbi Chidau from the revenue desk and Lizzie Zimunya from the IT department were suspended with immediate effect pending hearing by disciplinary committee. In a letter written by Acting Town Secretary Mr James Mutema directed to the parent ministry said Chidau was caught collecting foreign currency from residents and swiping for them using his own bank cards while Zimunya was delaying serving clients concentrating on her personal duties.
