The Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development says male students enrolling for tertiary education have declined to 38 percent, a development regarded as worrisome by government. Speaking during a meeting on gender mainstreaming guidelines and gender audit report findings in Mutare yesterday, acting Gender Director in the Ministry, Stephen Nyaruwata said a research has to be instituted to establish the causes and proffer solutions. Other organizations expressed concern over the social neglect to which the boy child is being exposed to in society and have called for immediate action.
