Media applauded for Giving vital information since Covid 19 pandemic

The media in Zimbabwe have been applauded for relaying vital information pertinent to saving lives since the advent of covid19, enabling better response to the pandemic by the government and members of the public. Addressing guests during the international day for universal access to information yesterday in Chimanimani, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Senator Mutsvangwa challenged the media to asses the audiences’ information seeking behavior, type of information they need and sources’ so as to improve access by communities. She further said as part of government’s thrust to open up airwaves and improve access to information, work has been done to afford diverse voices through licensing of 10 commercial radio stations, 14 community radio stations and various television stations.
