Elim Primary School receives major boost in construction of new classroom blocks

Elim Primary School in Penhalonga, Mutasa South Constituency recently benefitted from the construction and furnishing of a two classroom block with assistance from the Lotteries and Gaming Board.
Elim Primary School Head Mrs Mutsa Kuwenyi says the successful completion of the construction and the purchase of the furniture which was done at a cost of $3 049 276 will mitigate overcrowding in classrooms and enable an increase in enrolment of learners at the school.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister, Honourable Kazembe Kazembe who was represented by the outgoing Permanent Secretary in his ministry, Mr Aaron Nhepera, said the Second Republic, since its inception, has placed project implementation at the core of its development agenda.
The construction which started in 2019 as a 100-day Cycle project had been halted due to several challenges that include the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and prices instability.
