The Ministry of Women Affairs, Community Small and Medium enterprises Development in collaboration with other organizations has intensified awareness dialogues at various learning institutions in Manicaland to combat sexual harassment. Manicaland Provincial Development Officer in the ministry, Mr Munyaradzi Rubaya says, that the awareness dialogues are being carried out mainly in tertiary institutions to encourage learners to familiarize themselves with the sexual harassment policy so as to protect themselves in these institutions and the working environment. His sentiments follow indications of increased reports on sexual violence perpetration predominantly against female learns in these institutions, where in-turn they will be offered better grades or enable them to secure work related learning places.  According to the Labor Act sexual harassment is unwelcome sexually-determined behavior towards any employee, whether verbal or otherwise, such as making physical contact or advances, sexually coloured remarks, or displaying pornographic materials in the workplace.
